Cultural Center Building Project in Former Central Home

Natalia Colosia, Maricarmen Comas, Fernando Vignoni propose a Cultural Center Project new public space as part of a cultural nature of the auction articulating linear park and the historic port, promoting urban and social integration of this city sector. A multipurpose room capable of hosting new outdoor activities related to cultural expression and creating an enabling environment for social exchange, sports and tourism.
Preserve and rework the Cultural Center buildings of the former Central Home reconsidering the whole from its strong symbolic character. Promote through landscape-architectural interventions (regulatory gap, power tower, silos rework) ecological awareness, environmental stewardship as a cultural and educational, creating a dialogue between 2 generations.
Rework the larger ships of the existing Cultural Center building for use in the different rooms (concert hall, exhibition hall artists, and contemporary expressions room). Preserve the facades of existing buildings by vacuum only internal operations (circulation rooms) or full (service area) respecting the exterior volume.
It uses the sector occupied by the two main buildings with free entry to the foyer from the esplanade of access. It is proposed to design a room that would show the volume within
The Cultural Center building, speaking with identity and establishing a dialogue with the existing structure. It will be a central element in the project, due to its location, geometry and acoustic treatment ideal for orchestral concerts. It uses the concept of “box within a box” by two envelopes. Different means of movement allow the arrival and departure of the public to the audience. Access for the disabled. The support spaces (dressing deposits) have independent access from the street to the stage movement Artusi and differentiated public.
