Architect Daniel Silberfaden, author of Defense project, said the biggest challenge was the resolution of the four building facades where the assets had to be reconciled with contemporary architecture, sustainability and architecture technology. Technal facade system using hydro building system was presented in the architectural design of headquarters defense Casa FOA 2010. The FAO building project located Old Quarter of the City of Buenos Aires-Defense 269, less than two blocks from Plaza de Mayo, in a unique environment that retrieves the city’s past
The architect Daniel Silberfaden project comprises two buildings forming a joint venture to live and work developed by Go Real Estate. The first building was an old industrial structure that was recycled and re-functionalized in 18 units with the innovative format Lofty Suites, a restaurant with 100 seats and two shops. The architect also made a new work including 14 office buildings complete with an underground parking garage with capacity for 20.
Main challenges in the FOA building facades project are reconciling the heritage facades with contemporary architecture, technology and sustainability. Although the building is between party has the particularity of having four facades, so the decision of the skins surround the project was essential. This is a restored facade, two facades facing the second court-one facing east with innovative technology and thermal profiles and facing panels, west carpenters more small with similar technology and greater awareness of the wall, and a service counter back with aluminum frames and laminated glass.
The most difficult decision of this hydro building system project was to rebuild the west facade of the old building, which had disappeared with the demolition without falling in a former art director. This data was taken from the historic facade of windows and walls and built the concept with modern materials and a rational attitude. The challenge was to achieve an effect of amplitude in an enclosed space, which was achieved by the two main walls are lined with glazed bricks trans-illuminated. [technal-int]
